About me

Hey there! I’m Abbie — a college student with a soft spot for cozy layers, natural beauty, and all the little rituals that make life feel grounded and beautiful. I split my time between the east and west coasts of Canada, and honestly, that’s shaped so much of who I am and what I share here. Coast2Closet was born from something I kept running into: it’s surprisingly hard to find content that feels truly relatable when you’re living in a place with unpredictable seasons, wet winters, dry summers, and all the weather mood swings in between. Most of the creators I followed were dressing for completely different climates or using skincare that just didn’t hold up to our coastal conditions. So instead of waiting around, I decided to create what I couldn’t find — a space that blends style, skincare, and self-care that works in real-life Canadian weather.

My blog is a reflection of the things I care about: clothing that feels good and looks effortless, skincare that actually works with sensitive or temperamental skin (I see you, eczema!), haircare that can survive humidity or wind, and an overall approach to wellness that doesn’t feel overwhelming or out of touch. I lean into feminine, soft styles with a focus on comfort and earthy tones — think blush pinks, cozy greens, flowy textures, and layers you can actually move in. There’s a lot of outdoorsy inspiration here too, because being outside is where I reset and recharge. Whether I’m hiking through misty forests on the west coast or boating along crisp waters in the east, I’m always inspired by the natural world and how it can inform the way we take care of ourselves.

I’m also kind of obsessed with textures — maybe it’s the textile lover in me — so you’ll definitely see that influence in the clothes and products I talk about. I pay attention to how fabrics feel on your skin, how makeup blends on dry patches, and whether a moisturizer can actually soothe redness without feeling heavy. It’s those little sensory things that make a big difference, especially when you’re living somewhere where the weather can change five times a day.

Outside of blogging, I’m a student (which means I totally get what it’s like to work with a budget), and I spend most of my free time outdoors or in the kitchen. I love hiking, boating, and rock climbing — anything that lets me disconnect and move my body in a way that feels good. I also find so much joy in cooking, especially simple, nourishing meals that are cozy and seasonal. And while my blog isn’t a full-on food blog, I definitely sneak in the occasional recipe or cooking tip because food is a huge part of wellness for me.

One of the main goals behind Coast2Closet is to show that you can have a beautiful, intentional routine without having to overhaul your entire lifestyle or buy a whole new wardrobe every season. I share what I actually use and love — whether it’s the BB cream that doesn’t cling to dry patches, the blush that makes you look alive even in the dead of winter, or the jacket that works for fog, drizzle, and unexpected sunshine. I want this space to feel honest, helpful, and cozy — like chatting with a friend who just happens to love the same things you do.

Over time, I hope this blog becomes a resource for people like me — those of us who live in real weather, who deal with sensitive skin, who love beauty and fashion but also want to feel comfortable and connected to the world around us. Whether you’re looking for product recommendations that won’t irritate your skin, style ideas that work in both muddy trails and city streets, or just want a little slice of slow living and inspiration, I hope you feel at home here.

Thanks for being here — I’m so excited to keep sharing and growing with you.
